Pronouns Grammar

Pronouns are words used to replace nouns to avoid repetition in sentences. They help make sentences clearer and more concise. Pronouns can stand in for people, places, things, or ideas.

Types of Pronouns:

  1. Personal Pronouns: These pronouns refer to specific people or things. They can be categorized into three groups: subject pronouns, object pronouns, and possessive pronouns.

    • Subject Pronouns: I, you, he, she, it, we, they
    • Object Pronouns: me, you, him, her, it, us, them
    • Possessive Pronouns: mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, theirs
  2. Demonstrative Pronouns: These pronouns point to specific people or things.

    • Examples: this, that, these, those
  3. Relative Pronouns: These pronouns introduce relative clauses and connect them to the main clause.

    • Examples: who, whom, whose, which, that
  4. Interrogative Pronouns: These pronouns are used to ask questions.

    • Examples: who, whom, whose, which, what
  5. Indefinite Pronouns: These pronouns refer to nonspecific people or things.

    • Examples: everyone, someone, anybody, nothing
